SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — (November 10, 2015) — The 2nd Giro Della Costa Centrale, an annual cycling event produced by Race SLO, expects top teams and hundreds of riders, including defending GranFondo champions Blake Anton and Jane Despas, who will be racing over four timed routes ranging from 25 miles to 100 miles on Sunday, November 15 in Avila Beach, Calif. The event weekend also includes a Pro Panel reception, on Saturday, November 14 from 3:00–5:00pm in Avila Beach at Custom House Wine Cellar, featuring author, commentator and former professional Bob “Bobke” Roll and 2012 London Olympics silver medal cyclist Dotsie Bausch and commentator Bob Stapleton.

“At our second edition, we have attracted incredible cycling talent, led by defending GranFondo champions Jane Despas of ICE Sportswear p/b Pinnacle Racing and Blake Anton and his Team Clif Bar, and we expect some incredible competition,” said Samantha Pruitt, Race SLO Founder & CEO. “Also in attendance will be Neil Shirley from Team Road Bike Action, Robin Farina from Woman’s Cycling, USA Pro Champion Kurt Stockton and Barbara & Chris Grealish, the Traveling Chefs for Team Cannondale — Garmin. Without a doubt, this will be a great weekend of cycling racing and fun on the Central Coast!”

The 2nd Giro Della Costa Centrale presented by, set for November 14–15, 2015 in Avila Beach, Calif., will have four timed new routes ranging from 25 miles to 100 miles that showcase the beautiful Tuscan-like California Central Coast plus first class recovery area that includes a 5-star chef’s hot Italian lunch, massage, wine and music at Festivale Italiano. Top riders will receive the iconic PINK Giro style jersey and top KOM riders the polka dot jersey. Last year’s inaugural event sold out at 600 riders. This year’s event has added an additional 400 spots for 1,000 riders overall and is expected to sell out once again. Benefiting Hearst Cancer Resource Center and SLO A.L.P.H.A.
