Samantha Pruitt — Race SLO CEO & Founder
My favorite outdoor space in #EnduranceTownUSA is Avila Beach. If I start and finish my workouts in the beachside community I can ocean swim, road and mountain bike, road and trail run all in one day! I love starting my day there with a great cup of coffee and after the workout enjoying fish tacos and my favorite gluten free beer outside on a restaurant patio overlooking the majestic Pacific Ocean, 12 months a year!

Sharon Hicklin — Race SLO Finance
There are so many outdoor spaces to chose from here in San Luis Obispo. One of my favorite spots is East Cuesta Ridge. I can hike, run, or mountain bike throughout the ridge. The views are phenomenal and the skill required is as easy or hard as you want it to be. Stop, take in the incredible sights, enjoy the moments and feel the fresh air. I love this area, best of the best!

Amanda Leath — Race SLO Expo Manager
My favorite outdoor space is the Irish Hills. It’s right by my house and there are a ton of trails you can take. It also connects with Johnson Ranch, for the true adventurer. The views from the top are gorgeous. You can even see all the way to Morro Bay on a clear day and most days you can see all nine sisters. So, if you’re looking for some fresh air, some peace of mind, and gorgeous views, check out the Irish Hills.

Montana de Oro State Park is a play ground for any outdoor enthusiast with trails for mountain bikers, trail runners, hikers and horseback riding. It offers dramatic panoramic views from the many summits and whales and dolphins can often be seen from the rugged coastline. I love this place!

David Kline — Race SLO Hospitality
With many miles of trail in SLO County to choose from my favorite place to run is The Pismo Preserve. There is currently ten miles of groomed trails with amazing views stretching from Avila Lighthouse to Point Sal. Anytime of day is magical but my favorite time to run the Preserve is at sunrise and sunset. Your almost always a guaranteed to see wildlife while on the Preserve and whales breaching in the ocean. The Pismo Preserve is currently not open to the public yet but docent-led hikes and bike rides are now offered to the public by signing up at We will soon be offering docent-led running groups. “I am at my freest when I am running.” #iknowdavid
