SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – (July 17th, 2019) – Race SLO is proud to introduce CoastHills Credit Union as the presenting sponsor of the fourth annual SLO Ultra, and the inaugural SLO County Ultra Games, hosted by Visit Arroyo Grande at Lopez Lake this October.

“This is such a great way for CoastHills to show its support for  our community of athletes and volunteers, and also to align ourselves with one of our business banking members in Race SLO. Their team does a terrific job running the entire event, and we’re really excited to be on board,“ said Scott Coe, CoastHills’ Chief Communications Officer.

Relocating to Lopez Lake in Arroyo Grande to accommodate growing interest in trail running, obstacle racing and crossfit-style competition, the SLO Ultra events are scheduled for October 26 – 27, 2019, with two thousand athletes of all ages and abilities expected to attend. SLO Ultra Trail Races offer 5 different events for runners, hikers and OCR athletes – a 1-mile kids obstacle race, 5K adult obstacle race, half marathon trail run/hike, full marathon trail run/hike, and the ‘Ultra Double’ trail race by doing the marathon on Saturday, followed by the half marathon on Sunday. SLO County Ultra Games are open to individuals or 2-persons teams, with each person participating in three crossfit-style events during the weekend, including strength and functional fitness component on Saturday and endurance component on Sunday.

“Sponsor partners are the cornerstone to our events being produced at the high level. Without their support, our events simply would not happen. We are ecstatic to have our own business banking partner, CoastHills, further invest in our success by becoming the presenting sponsor of the expanding SLO Ultra weekend. With their support, this unique athletic experience will only get better,” said Samantha Pruitt, Race SLO Founder and CEO.

The two-day SLO Ultra Festival is open to the public and will offer entertainment, music, food and beverage, and fun activities for athletes and spectators alike. Camping will be available at the Lopez Lake recreation area on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations can be made at the SLO County Parks website. Accommodation can also be found in a nearby Arroyo Grande village, by booking through the SLO Ultra’s exclusive lodging sponsor Visit Arroyo Grande. Childcare company will be offered by Race Rugrats.

The SLO Ultra will benefit the SLO County Parks Department and the Sheriff’s Advisory Foundation.
