Hello everyone, my name is Pepe and this is my story. I’m a runner. I love running. I love it for the joy and relief it brings me. It centers me to focus in on my mindset and I always feel more positive after completing a run. The runner’s high is my therapy. But it wasn’t always that way. I used to hate it. I started running when I was five years old. My dad used to make me run, running behind me, encouraging and pushing me along the way. He too was a runner from an early age and used what running taught him to instill the same drive and discipline in my brother and I, not just in running, but in all aspects of life.

Throughout my lifetime of running, I have met amazing people who have inspired me to keep on running, leading by example, showing me, that if they can do it, so can I. Running has molded me into who I am in  many ways. It gives me passion, motivation, and a desire to improve every day. I have many running role models but the two that inspire my passion are my dad and my high school coach, Ivan Huff. They have taught me so much about running, inspired me and pushed me to be my best which led me to break many middle school records. Coach Huff introduced me to long distance running and made me a stronger runner and instilled a competitiveness in me I never had before!

Running has really shaped my life in so many great ways! It keeps me going and motivates me to be the best I can be in all areas of life. It’s not just a form of a workout, it’s a lifestyle and I’m very grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve gotten the opportunity to meet through running and that I’ll continue to meet through it that that inspire me to be the runner and person that I am!
